The Minnesota Wild won their franchise-record ninth straight game Thursday night, beating the Canadiens 4-2 at the Bell Centre with Eric Staal scoring the winner short-handed at 3:08 of the third period before Jason Zucker added an empty-net goal with 23 seconds left.The Canadiens saw their two-game winning streak come to an end, but they still sit atop the Atlantic Division standings with a 21-8-4 record.It was only the Canadiens' third home regulation loss in 20 games (15-3-2).

Al Montoya got his first win in six appearance and it came against his former team.Phillip Danault scored 39 seconds into overtime after Brendan Gallagher tied it late in the third period, leading the Montreal Canadiens over the Florida Panthers 3-2 on Thursday night.Montoya made 31 saves to record his first win since Oct. 26, against the New York Islanders.
